It's back-to-school season!
It's hard to believe that in a few short weeks, class will be back in session for students in our area. Where did the summer go? It always seems as if the summer days rush by too quickly. Blink your eyes and … here comes another school year ready to begin.
As the old saying goes, “the days are long and the years are short!” Regardless of what stage of life you're in, time flies. Since we're on the subject of time and how quickly the years tick by, when was the last time you pulled out those estate planning documents and your beneficiary designations and gave them a good review? When I ask clients this question, they seem to say “oh, we just had this Will done a year or so ago.” Then when they flip to the date of that document they are always shocked at how long ago “a year or so” really was.
This month, in the theme of “back to school” we want to take a moment to go back to Estate Planning basics. That starts with first, making sure you have an estate plan completed. Followed closely by having those beneficiary designations in place. And last, making time to review those details. We'll be here to share some good reminders in our weekly blog updates. Be on the look out for those as we share them on Facebook page.
If any of this sparks some conversation in your household or even some concerns or questions, don't leave it be. Give us a call. Let's talk through it and ensure that you've got what you need… not just documents, but peace of mind!
