July Newsletter

July is National Sandwich Generation Month…

July is National Sandwich Generation Month. Meaning, if you are busy taking care of your family, but also being tasked with caring for aging parents, you are part of this growing demographic called the Sandwich Generation. This national awareness campaign is aimed at helping you discuss important aspects of care with your parents, whether they need long-term care now or might need it in the future. Especially in this month of awareness, we want to offer you resources that can empower you to make critical decisions for you and your loved ones. One of our most popular resources is our Sandwich Generation Guide. It is our comprehensive resource for adults “Sandwiched” between the challenges of caring for aging parents and their own family at the same time:

  • Discover how to ease the pressure and burdens as an adult caregiver.
  • Learn how to secure much-needed benefits and resources to pay for mom and dad's care.
  • Stay in control during a parent's healthcare crisis.
  • Help your parents protect their independence and honor their wishes through all of life's transitions.
  • Avoid costly mistakes that could put your own family on the hook for long-term care bills and obligations.

In addition to this important month of awareness, Indiana's new Advance Directives law took effect on July 1st and we want to be sure to update you on all the changes that might impact you and your family.  You'll want to read our latest blog on this subject that outlines changes and updates to this law. Anyone who has executed advance directives under Indiana law should review their documents. Such documents impacted by these new law changes might be known as:

  • Advanced Directives
  • Health Care Power of Attorney
  • Appointment of Health Representative
  • Or other related health care documents

Rave Reviews

"Making an appointment with an attorney to discuss unpleasant but necessary subjects is not something I look forward to at my age, which is 86. I have had several occasions when I needed professional advice in business and personal matters, but the attorneys I worked with in the past have retired, so when a dear friend recommended Apri I took her advice and am grateful for her. April is not only professional, knowledgeable, and efficient, she is also personable and has the ability to put you at ease. And to her credit, she has surrounded herself with a staff of pleasant, accommodating young women.  April spent time listening to my concerns and together we finished my business in a short time. I would highly recommend April to anyone seeking advice in legal matters. She is like talking to an old friend and I would be very comfortable calling her at any time if the need arises."

We’re Different and Different Is Good.

At GLO we’re reviving the lost art of listening. It’s your planning, not ours. You tell us how you want to take care of your family and business. We will listen and put everything in place.
