It's been a challenging month, to say the least, and I hope that everyone is doing well under the circumstances. I'm thankful that our client appointments have all transitioned pretty smoothly to virtual conferences, and please know that we are continuing to work flexibly to ensure that you and your family are supported and protected during this time.
I recently stumbled across a social media post from a historian encouraging everyone to document or journal their experiences during this pandemic. This is obviously a unique moment in time and certainly one for the history books. As an estate planning attorney, I often talk about leaving a legacy that is more than money. This is generally done by passing down stories, letters, cards, videos, and life lessons. Imagine what it would be like to read letters and stories from your grandparents or great-grandparents about their experiences during the 1918 flu pandemic. Wouldn't that be something unique to cherish and reflect on right now?
If you find yourself with extra time on your hands and a lot on your mind, it might be an opportunity to write out some of your thoughts (or even record a few videos) that can be passed onto future generations someday. The time to do it is now while it's fresh on your mind and your emotions are raw and unfiltered. You might even find it therapeutic! Finally, THANK YOU to all of the essential workers reading this who are tirelessly serving our community while putting themselves in harm's way. I am thankful for all of the health care workers, grocery store employees, manufacturers, truckers, gas station attendants and everyone else for their sacrifice during this time.
Hang in there,

Meet Kelly Klipp, a Grunden Law Office Client Care Coordinator. She's been working with the GLO team for a few months now but we wanted everyone to know a bit about her! -What do you love most about working in this field? I thrive on helping guide clients through the estate planning process, which I know can be overwhelming to those who haven't experienced it yet. I appreciate working with a team of colleagues who always have the client's best interest at heart. -Where are you from? I was born in Indiana, but raised in Pensacola, Florida, and lived in many different places since. My husband Marty & I lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa since 2003, and moved to Fort Wayne in August 2019 to be closer to family. -What are your hobbies? I enjoy genealogy, gardening, travel, cooking and baking. -What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I spend a lot of time watching my son play baseball. I love visiting my aunt & uncle's cottage on Lake Wawasee, where my husband and I were married. I'm always up for a weekend trip to Chicago to visit the Art Institute, see a show, or take in a Cubs game. |
