Spring cleaning anyone?

We are less than a month away from the first day of spring!! Now, I know that doesn't mean we instantly wake up to budding flowers and warmer temps, but it does offer a little hope that these cold, wintery days will soon end. And... it gets me looking ahead to some spring cleaning.

Last year, many folks took the time during our COVID shut-in to purge and organize areas of their homes. Were you one of the ones?? How many folks got into a project and became overwhelmed? How many started and didn't finish? How long did the organization last? Okay... no confession necessary! Whether or not you purged and organized last year, chances are you're looking ahead to some spring cleaning on the to-do list. When tackling those packed closets and digging out from the winter boots and coats, don't forget to take some time and get your finances and important papers some attention.

Making sure you have your important papers organized and updated is one of those tasks that should be on the list this time of year. Why? Well, for starters, tax season is here and nothing makes tax time more frustrating than not knowing where all your important papers are kept. While you're prepping for tax filing, dig out those estate plan papers and give them a once over. You do have them, right? If not, your first task is to call us for a consultation! If you do have the important documents.... are they current? Are they relevant? Are they still serving your wishes? If you're not sure, we're here to review them with you so you can have peace of mind that things are in order.

Be sure to check out our recent blog posts. We've linked them here in this newsletter. These posts give you some handy lists to refer to in getting your finances organized. Here's to some spring cleaning... to closets, to junk drawers, to finances, and to important papers! You've got this!

With Gratitude,

April

Caregivers invited to our office on March 3rd

Wednesday, March 3rd is Caregiver Appreciation Day and we want to honor and celebrate all of you who tirelessly give care to your family and loved ones. On March 3rd, we'll be passing out goodies to caregivers who stop by our office on that date. So if you're a caregiver, make plans to stop by on Wednesday, March 3rd during our normal business hours, and let us appreciate YOU!

We need your pajamas!

We've partnered with the Long Term Care Ombudsman for their 11th Annual Pajama Drive and we're asking YOU to drop off new adult pajamas, sweatpants, and sweatshirts, as well as gowns to our location.

We're happy to be a drop-off site for this drive so bring those new items with the tags still on to our office anytime Monday thru Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Fridays between 9 a.m. and noon. Who is this organization that we chose to partner with? We're so glad you asked!

The Long Term Care Ombudsman is a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting residents of long-term care facilities as well as their families, and each year they depend on community donations of new, adult pajamas to give to residents.  The Ombudsman works with volunteers to champion resident-driven advocacy all year in nine counties throughout Northeastern Indiana and in more than 84 facilities. The nonprofit responds to more than 100 complaints per month from residents and their families concerning the care that is being offered in area nursing homes. Last year the drive collected 500 pajamas and we're hoping with your help that we'll go way past that number this year! Now more than ever, nursing home residents need some kindness and comfort. Let's give it to them in the form of your donated pajamas!
